On February 4, 2009, the President signed into law the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA).
CHIPRA, finances the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA or Public Law 111-3). The law provides provisions that affect both the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
CHIPRA, reauthorized the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)through 2013. CHIPRA will strengthen each states existing programs and provide coverage to additional low income, un-insured children and pregnant women. It will also provide States the option to provide Medicaid /CHIP to qualified legal alien children and pregnant women that reside legally in the Unite States.
